Our Lady of Fatima hosts motorcycle blessing

About 60 motorcyclists and more than 80 riders attended last Sunday's annual Biker Blessing at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in Highland Lakes. The majority of the bikes were Harley Davidson — made, of various styles and colors —although black was the most common color. There were even two three-wheeled street machines at the event. Following a welcoming salutation and the pledge of allegiance to the American flag, Monsignor Robert Carroll began the service with a variety of prayers and blessings and offered Holy Communion to those who wished to receive it. Perhaps better known as “Father Bob," the monsignor then threaded his way through the dozens of black and sometimes brightly-colored and sparkling chrome machines as he sprinkled holy water on the motorcycles and their riders. — Photos by Chris Wyman For more photos, visit www.advertisernewsnorth.com.
