VERNON — Gina Dobrowolski credits her friends for the idea of her year- old café, coffee shop, The Daily Bean. Before the hit café, Dobrowolski was the proprietor of an antique shop at the same location.
“I definitely was going out of business at the antique shop, seems no one was interested in antiques,” she commented.
Very simply, Dobrowolski loves what she does and she loves to bake and the goodies available are testament to her love of the art of baking. Shelves were full of scones, muffins, coffee cakes as well as gluten free and vegan specialties straight from the oven.
The Daily Bean officially celebrated its first anniversary on May 27 with a crowded house, live music and a celebratory cake. Truly, a Vernon community success, the Daily Bean is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and until 8 p.m. on weekends. Both Dobrowolski and her assistant Krysten Keifer attribute hard work to the shop’s success.
“Perseverance and hanging in there and the wonderful people of Vernon and the outlining areas have really made the difference,” the café team admitted.
