The New Sussex Symphony, under the baton of Karen Pinoci, Music Director/Conductor, will mesmerize audiences on May 18 at 3 p.m. at Sparta High School’s Performing Arts Center on 70 West Mountain Road in Sparta.

Joining the orchestra will be Sparta High School’s finest orchestral musicians and vocalists under the direction of Loni Bach and Laura Lopez.

The concert will feature selections from the Requiems including Giuseppe Verdi’s “Dies Irae,” Mozart’s Lacrimosa, and selections from the Requiems of Faure and John Rutter. Also being performed are Mozart’s Overture from the “Marriage of Figaro” and John Rutter’s “When The Saints Go Marching In,” Tchaikovsky’s Waltz from “Sleeping Beauty,” and highlights from “Wicked.”

This is the New Sussex Symphony’s final concert of the season.

The next season will begin in Nov. 2013.

The New Sussex Symphony was founded in 1959. Concert repertoire extends over four centuries, from the early 1700s to contemporary music. In addition to the formal concert series, the symphony acts as a resource to the county’s musical community.
