Sussex Borough plans water system sale

The Sussex Borough Council will solicit bids of sale regarding the Borough’s water treatment plant, distribution system and waste water system on April 15.

The resolution carried 4-1. Councilwoman Linda Masson voted against it, and Councilwoman Annette Stendor was absent.

Masson said the advertisement was “still very premature.” She said the council should complete the water/sewer rate change audit in order to straighten out the rates. Also, there also is the possibility of adding more users which could lower the rates.
