Sportsman Federation plans fishing derby

    The Sussex County Federation of Sportsman's Clubs will host its annual children's fishing derby and breakfast/lunch on Saturday May 17 from 9 a.m. until noon.

    The raindate will be Sunday, May 18.

    Children ages 15 and younger are welome to enter the derby.

    Derby participants are asked dto provide their own fishing tackle. The federation will provide worms. Food will be available for purchase from Boy Scouts and prizes will be awarded.

    Children ages 15 and younger are not required to have a fishing license.

    Particpants are asked to bring a can of food for the NORWESCAP food program. Additionally, this year any monetary donations would also be appreciated. Normal New Jersey fishing regulations will be observed.

    The derby will be held at the pond within the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show Grounds. The pond is conveniently located off of Plains Road in Augusta.
