Heaven Hill Farm hosts Earthfest

Everybody had a chance to solo and get into the act during the drum circles. Composer and master musician Richard Reiter leads one of two drum circles held in the covered patio area at Heaven Hill Farm during the Vernon Earthfest 2014 celebration. Although he makes the rounds with drums, his primary instruments are woodwinds.
VERNON — Earthfest 2014 was once held at Heaven Hill Farm on Route 94. It was the 14th such festival and was organized by Vernon Chamber Charities and the Vernon Earthfest Committee.
Once again, the event was coordinated by Margaret Kranz of Valley National Bank.
The hundreds of people who attended came out despite a milky sky and chilling temperatures for the five-hour Earth Day celebration. Events in the greenhouse included Snakes ’n’ Scales, Eyes of the Wild, and Birds of Prey. Events held on the covered patio area included Oliver the Goose Story Time and Drum Circles under the direction of composer and master musician Richard Reiter.
