Final audition dates for The Pirates of Penzance

    Tri-State Actors Theater will hold final auditions for "The Pirates of Penzance" from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 31 at the Performing Arts Center/SCCC and Saturday, June 7, at the Student Center Theater, Bldg. D, SCCC.

    The Summer Intern Training Program is open to students 13 to 18. Tri-State Actors Theater has trained hundreds of students who are interested in learning the art of theater and performing, since its first season in the summer of 1988. This summer’s Family Production is the Gilbert & Sullivan musical, "The Pirates of Penzance."

    Auditioners will be asked to read selected characters from the script and sing a simple tune. Head shots and resume will be accepted, but are not required. Appointments are not necessary.

    The Intern Program begins July 7, with three weeks of rehearsals, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Production dates for "The Pirates of Penzance" are July 30 through Aug. 9. All rehearsals and performances will be at Sussex County Community College, Newton. Interns must be available for all rehearsals and performances. Past season production’s include "The Wind in the Willows," "Winnie the Pooh," "Jungle Book," "Hey, Ho Pinocchio," "Charlotte’s Web," and "Stuart Little."
