Area voters to go to polls for primary elections

    Area voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, June 3, for both Republican and Democratic nominations in November's general election.

    Wantage Committeeman Ronald Bassani will face incumbent Philip R. Crabb for the Republican nomination for a three-year term on the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The winner of the primary will face Democrat Bill Weightman in November.

    On the federal level, four Republicans, Richard J. Pezzullo, Murray Sabrin, Jeff Bell and Brian D. Goldberg will square off for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Cory Brooker for his six-year term.

    In the House of Representatives, two Democrats, Diane Sare and Roy Cho, will face each other in a primary to challenge U.S. Rep Scott Garrett for his 5th District seat.

    There will be two primaries for the 11th District seat in the House. Republicans Rick VanGlahn and Rodney P. Frelinghuysen will vie for the nomination while Lee Anne Brogowski, Brian Murphy andn Mark Dunek will face off for the Democratic nomination.

    There are no contest municipal primaries in the area. In Sussex Borough, Maria Krynicky and Robert Holowach are seeking the Republican nomination for two seats on the borough council. In Wantage Township, Jonathan Morris is unopposed for the Republican nomination for a three-year term on the council. No Democratic petitions have been filed in either municipality.
