Nearly 25 students participated in the "Fourth Annual Poster Session" tonight to present part of their research findings on genes.

Some of the students presented research from their in-class projects in courses with science teacher Madelaine Travaille at the school-- 'Introduction to Research in Molecular Biology' and 'Advanced Science Research.

Others presented their findings from participating in the Waksman Student Scholars Program offered in partnership with Rutgers Uni. All of the work done in this program by the students was mostly completed after school in Travaille's 'Science Research Club,' which meets twice a week throughout the school year. This year's project for the Waksman Student Scholars Program focuses on the genomic sequence analysis of the Duckweed Landoltia punctata and how the genes in this organism compare with other species.
