Charles E. Bailey, 29, of Highland Lakes was charged with resisting arrest and eluding, a fourth-degree crime after a patrol officer saw him cutting his grass.
Police said the officer knew he had several warrants issued against him. When approached, police said Bailey took off on foot into the woods. After police set up a perimiter, Bailey was taken into custody after a foot pursuit.
Police said Bailey was logged by members of the Sussex County Sheriff's Office on a contempt warrant issued by Sussex County Superior Court.

Giovanni Valsoaney, 19, of Vernon was charged with underage consumption of alchohol and trespassing.
Police said they responded to Lonaconing Road for a report of a male sleeping in the back seat of the homeowners's silver Ford Escape.
Police said an investigation revealed Valsoaney was intoxicated and had thrown up in the vehicle.
