The preschoolers at Discovery Years in Vernon participated in a Hop-a-Thon to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

More than $1,200 was collected.

Everyone learned the MDA's message of awareness, acceptance, and assistance. The children also had the opportunity to meet with Matthew Tempe, who was diagnosed with MD at the age of nine.

Tempe showed the children how his wheelchair and van allow him to get from place to place and explained how the MDA has provided support to him and his parents in many ways.
