Lakeland Pools & Spas holding second annual toy drive
VERNON — Lakeland Pools & Spas is holding its Second Annual Toy Drive in memory of Harrison Shauger.
Harrison was born on Aug. 2, 2006, with a congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Harrison was well known at the store, in school and around the community for his giant smile that would affect everyone he came in contact with. Harrison lost his battle with his heart disease on March 26, 2013 after, multiple surgeries and cardiac catheterizations.
The toy drive is in honor of Harrisons birthday which is Aug. 2. Last year, the drive took in a total of 273 toys that were then donated to The Pediatric Center for Heart Disease in Hackensack. Harrison made frequent visits to this office for check-ups and every visit he had, he always walked out with a smile as they always had a toy for him at the end of his visit.
The Shauger family would like to continue putting smiles on these precious children who battle heart disease everyday by doing these donations every year.
New toys for ages newborn to teen can be dropped off at the store location 257 Route 94, Vernon.
For more information, call Tracey Shauger at Lakeland Pools & Spas at 973-827-9000. The store is located at 257 Route 94 in Vernon Township.
