As a departure from past camporees, Vernon Cub Scout Pack 404 this year invited dozens of township girl scouts and brownies to join them for a weekend at the Rickey Farm on Route 94.

Tents covered the top of the grassy field alongside the Appalachian Trail with perfect weather the entire weekend.

Along with the ever popular zip line, educational entertainment also included two ponies brought by Elizabeth Neillands of Vernon’s Pond Hollow Stables and a very much hands-on demonstration in beekeeping courtesy of Vernon beekeeper JC Cowell of the Bees, Birds & Bear Apiary.
