The mountaintop community of Highland Lakes held its 55th annual art show, which was divided into professional and amateur categories, on Saturday.

Music for the event was provided by Derek Pedersen who performed on the acoustic guitar. The theme for this year’s show included the 200th anniversary of the creation of The Star Spangled Banner, the most iconic of American symbols – the national anthem — by lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key.

This year’s 19 featured Highland Lakes professional artists were: Joan Bono, Terie Bono, Carol Chave, Carole Fortenbach, Rosita Gilsenan, Rob Haley, Martha Hall, Marcia Letizia, Dawn McLaughlin, Doug Miller, Philip Pearlstein, Rick Perez, Michael Preston, Wendy Robinson, Joan Ross, Lois Semanek, Jill Wallace, Bruce Young, Keri Zierenberg, plus guest artist Brenda Decker of Lake Stockholm.
