Spartan race planned for Saturday

The Reebok Spartan Race, scheduled for Saturday at Mountain Creek, is expected to draw throusands of racers to the area.

The Elite heat will begin at 7:30 a.m.

The more-than-8-mile Spartan Super’s mix of mud and outdoor obstacles will test experienced racers’ physical strength and mental resolve. The event also will feature the Spartan Hurricane Heat, an opportunity for athletes to meet and run with the founders and the staff of Spartan Race in a unique and memorable way.

Final race-day schedules will be posted on the Spartan Race website a few days prior to the event dates.

Daylong activities also will include the Jr. Spartan Adventure Race benefiting Kids Fit Foundation. The Kids Fit Foundation strives to raise awareness and develop programs that educate, empower and inspire kids to become and stay fit.
