Trans Options presents to Sussex MS students

SUSSEX BOROUGH — Kristen Tomasicchio, the environmental education coordinator, from Trans Options, recently visited Mrs. Synol’s Environmental Science Class at the Sussex Middle School to present one of its in-class Environmental Education programs, “It’s All About Energy.”

This program provided students with a perspective on renewable and nonrenewable energy sources and their roles as fuels for transportation. Students were provided with a historical perspective on fuel use in the United States and the effects on our environment of burning fossil fuels. Students also were introduced to today's emerging alternative energy sources for transportation and investigated hydrogen fuel cells and photovoltaic solar cells.
