The Vernon Inn’s numerous parking lots that disappear back into the woods, were completely full on Saturday, Aug. 29.

For the third year in a row, the “Beers for Buch” fundraising event, in honor of township resident Cpl. Alexander Buccieri, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2013., appears to be getting very close to this year’s $7,000 goal.

This year’s fundraiser is to benefit the Semper Fi Fund, Fisher House Foundation, and our local Vernon VFW.

Event coordinator Krissy Buccieri her husband were both 2008 graduates of Vernon Township High School. They married and after surviving two tours of duty in Afghanistan, he returned to the states only to be killed in a motorcycle crash in California. Krissy Buccieri was six months pregnant with their child at the time and soon returned to Vernon. Soon after, she created the “Beers for Buch” fundraising event.
