Ann L. Ricco

    Ann L. (Meines) Ricco, 76, passed away suddenly on Sept. 8, 2015, at Newton Hospital.

    Born on June 10, 1939 in Paterson, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William and Dora (Winkler) Meines, and grew up in Prospect Park, N.J.

    Ann was married for 21 years to Maurice Ricco.

    A graduate of Eastern Christian schools, she worked for Public Service Electric & Gas Company, Paterson, retiring in 1994. Ann enjoyed traveling, having gone on trips to Africa, Japan and South America. An avid bird watcher, she went on birding excursions with several groups. After her marriage to Murray, they enjoyed traveling together. Ann was a reader, a crafts person, who could teach herself how to crochet, knit and to play the piano.

    She was a member of Sussex Christian Reformed Church.

    In addition to her husband Maurice, she is survived by her brother Clarence Meines of Littleton, Colo.; two sisters, Gertrude Beintema of Pella, Iowa, and Ruth Van Hoff and her husband, Rich, of Warwick, N.Y., and nieces and nephews. She is also survived by Murray’s children: Rick Ricco, Wayne Ricco and his wife Marietta, Janice Huele and husband Pete, step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

    A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Sussex Christian Reformed Church, 51 Unionville Ave., Sussex.
