Joseph Schreiber, age 59, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at his home after a long battle with cancer. Born in Hackensack, Joe grew up in Teaneck before moving to Sussex County in 1965. He had been an auto body repair technician for Franklin Sussex Auto Body in Hamburg for over 30 years and had retired four years ago.

He enjoyed hunting and being surrounded by the outdoors. Joe was predeceased by his first wife, Debbie (Rizzo) Schreiber; his father, Joseph P. Schreiber; and his grandson, Joey Schreiber. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Ruth (Muse); his daughter, Heather Thompson and her husband, John, of Green Cove Springs, Florida; and his sons, Joseph Schreiber and Dustin and Barry Glass all of Wantage; his mother, Margaret (Lynch) Schreiber of Vernon; his brother, John Schreiber and his wife, Kathy, of Sparrowbush, N.Y.; his sisters, Patricia McCooey and her husband, James, of Sparrowbush, N.Y., and Barbara Yetter and her husband, Walter, of Wantage; his seven grandchildren; and his beloved beagle, Jack. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Joe's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
