Snook seeks council seat

Following the footsteps of his father, Vernon Township resident Ed Snook is seeking a seat on the Vernon Township Council.

Snook served as chief of the Vernon Fire Dept. and as its president. He is a life member of the department. He also is retired as director of the township Department of Public Works in 2006 after 36 years of service.

He lives in the McAfee section of Vernon with his wife, daughter and two granddaughters.

"I want to serve my town, as my family has in the past," Snook said.

His father, also named Edward Snook, was a former Board of Education member and a Township Committeeman.

"I will stirve to help Vernon Township continue on a path of lower taxes/flat taxes, more commercial growth and increased cooperation on the council.

Snook also studied engineering at Tri-State College in Indiana. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1967.

His parents, Edward and Dorothy Snook were dairy farmers, and Snook said they raised their children to work hard on the family's farm, Snook's Dairy.
