Church to hold badge blessing

WANTAGE — The Church of the Good Shepherd will hold its first Blessing of the Badges, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m.

The church is located at 200 Route 23 in Wantage across from the Farmers Market and Sussex meat packing stores.

This event is meant to honor and recognize our police officers as well as their spouses and children, to let them know how much their service means to the community.

All law enforcement officers and their families, active and retired, are encouraged to attend this event, not only to have their badges blessed but to allow the community to express its gratitude.

If police officers are not able to attend the service, the church will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2015, for individual badge blessing.
