Vernon's Boy Scout Troop 912 patrolled areas surrounding the Vernon PAL building, the Vernon Municipal Center, the Vernon Recycling Center, and Vernon Valley Karate Academy on Theta Drive on Sunday, Sept. 27, collecting and bagging discarded pieces of garbage and recycling. Several bags were collected and properly disposed of.

“Having a Scouting program in our town of Vernon, New Jersey clearly has many benefits," Sensei Tom Shull of Vernon Valley Karate Academy said. "Scouts are taught to be of good character, to be good citizens, and to develop themselves to be physically fit. These objectives of the Scout program produce young residents who will strive to aid the community by participating in activities that benefit both the citizens and the ecology.”
