Charles Joseph Hintzen, III

    Charles Joseph Hintzen, III, 94 years old, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015. Born to Charles J. Hintzen, Jr. and Stephanie Hintzen in Paterson, N.J., where he was raised and lived before moving to Franklin, N.J., 31 years ago.

    Charles served with the United States Navy during WWII and then worked as a maintenance mechanic for Sandoz Chemical in Fair Lawn, N.J., for many years retiring in 1985. He enjoyed carpentry, boating and fishing and was a doting grandfather and great grandfather.

    Charles is predeceased by his wife, Gladys Hintzen (2009) and 3 brothers, Emil, Joseph and Edward Hintzen and is the devoted father of Charles J. Hintzen, IV, and his wife, Holly, of Wantage Twp., N.J., Charlene Messina and her husband, Sam, of Bloomingdale, N.J., Bruce E. Hintzen and his wife, Ellen, of Huntersville, N.C., Wayne Hintzen and his wife, Jamie, of Hardyston Twp., N.J., Brian Hintzen of Paterson, N.J., Gary Hintzen and his wife, Yvonne, of Franklin, N.J., and Gladys Glesias and her husband, Robert, of Newton, N.J. Cherished by 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

    The family will receive their friends at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin, N.J., on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston Twp., N.J.
