HOT 97 to present Busta Rhymes and Friends
NEWARK — Multi-platinum selling recording artist and musical genius Busta Rhymes, known worldwide for his hit records and extraordinary stage performance, has aligned with HOT 97, the No. 1 Hip Hop radio station in the world, to create one of the most highly anticipated events of the year: the “Busta Rhymes & Friends Hot for the Holidays” concert on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Newark Prudential Center.
HOT 97’s own legendary DJs will host the star-studded event, as they come together to celebrate Busta’s 25th Anniversary in Hip Hop.
The event will feature performances from friends of Busta Rhymes, including: mogul, recording artist and record producer Sean "Diddy" Combs aka Puff Daddy; Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling recording artist Mary J. Blige; multi-platinum selling recording artist Lil Wayne; Grammy Award-winning recording artist Sean Paul; Hip Hop recording artist French Montana; and more to be announced over the coming weeks.
The show marks the return to Prudential Center for both Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne, who previously performed at the arena in 2009. The concert also continues Prudential Center’s success with R&B, Hip Hop and Rap programming since the arena’s opening in 2007. The building has welcomed Avant, Charlie Wilson, El Debarge, Jagged Edge, Jaheim, Kenny Lattimore, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, R. Kelly, Tank and Toni Braxton in the last year alone. Past Prudential Center performers in this genre have also included Alicia Keys, Akon, Estelle, Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo, Sade, T-Pain, Tina Turner and Usher.
