    Oct. 19Chad W. Hines, 36, of Vernon pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a crime of the third degree.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 11.

    In August, Hardyston police effectuated a motor vehicle stop where the defendant was found to be a passenger. During the stop, the defendant was found to be in possession of heroin at the time.

    Oct. 21Richard M. Gordon, 31, of Roselle pleaded guilty to first-degree robery and second-degree conspiracy to commit robbery.

    Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 17.

    In pleading guilty, Gordon admitted to conspiring with his two co-defendants and agreeing to rob the Quick Chek Store in Byram. Gordon further admitted to entering the Quick Chek in Byram on July 12, 2011, and serving as a lookout while his armed co-defendant robbed the store cashier.

    Oct. 23William Finan, 52, of Hamburg was sentenced to one year of probation on condition he serve 27 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility.

    He must also undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit to random urine testing, enter and complete alcohol treatment, have no contact with the victim and pay all court fines and fees.

    He pleaded guilty on July 27, to third-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.

    The incident occurred when the defendant and some friends were joking around together and Finan became enraged from comments made to him, prompting him to brandish a knife in a threatening manner.

    Michael J. Mihalik, 43, of Sussex Borough, was sentenced to a mandatory 180 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and a six-month loss of his driver’s license and one year of probation. He also was sentenced to 180 days on a violation of probation to run concurrent. He also must pay $155 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on July 13, to fourth-degree operating a motor vehicle during a second or subsequent license suspension for driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and a violation of probation.

    In December of 2014, the defendant lost control of his vehicle and struck another vehicle on the other side of the road. The defendant’s license plate was found at the scene and Mihalik was subsequently identified and admitted to driving while knowing his license was suspended.

    Charles Taylor, 29, of Hamburg was sentenced to three years of probation with 36 days served. He also must undergo a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, submit to random urine testing, have no alcohol or illegal/mood altering substances and pay $155 in fines.

    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 3, 2015, to third-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

    In March, Hardyston police responded to a report of a highly intoxicated person. When they entered the home the defendant was found visibly intoxicated. While police were trying to get Mr. Taylor to sit down, he resisted shoving one of the officers and tried to kick and strike them.

    Matthew Delvecchio, 24, of Hamburg was sentenced to one year of probation, one day jail credit for time served and $155 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on Aug. 10, 2015, to the second-degree crime of possession of an assault firearm .

    He admitted to unlawfully possessing an assault rifle on March 23, in Hamburg. The matter was investigated by Hamburg Police Sgt. Gunderman.

    Christian D. Kosminsky, 24, of Franklin was sentenced to two years of probation, 96 days credit for time served in jail and $3,955 in court fines.

    He pleaded guilty on Sept. 14, to three counts of third-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

    He admitted to distributing heroin in Franklin on three separate occasions on April 23 and 29. The matter was investigated by Franklin Police Det. N. Mattessich.

    Amanda L. Walters, 36, of Sussex Borough was sentenced to time served and $155 in court fines.

    She pleaded guilty on Sept. 14 to the fourth-degree crime of shoplifting.

    She admitted to shoplifting at the Walmart located in Franklin between the dates of Aug. 10 and 14. The matter was investigated by Franklin police officers R. Burgos and J. Snyder.
