    Arthur Sinfield, 80, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at his home in Allamuchy Twp. Mr. Sinfield, son of the late Victor and Valentina (Ucinski) Sinfield, was born in Cliffside Park on Feb. 19, 1935. Mr. Sinfield resided in the Glenwood section of Vernon for 36 years, moving to Allamuchy in 2012.

    Mr. Sinfield worked at Midland Park Lumber from 1969-73 and later retired from Black Millwork in Allendale as Warehouse Foreman having worked there for over 20 years. In his retirement he worked at the Vernon Twp. Municipal Building.

    Mr. Sinfield was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War serving from 1952-60. In the mid 1950s, he served as a radioman for the U.S. Navy.

    Mr. Sinfield worked as a full-time fireman for Cliffside Park Fire Department from 1958-62. He also volunteered for Guttenberg Fire Dept. from 1962-68 where he was a past chief. As well, Mr. Sinfield volunteered for the Haledon Fire Department from 1969-73. Mr. Sinfield was an exempt member and past chief of Vernon Twp. Fire Dept. serving since 1976. He also was a member of the Vernon Twp. Fire Police.

    Mr. Sinfield was a member of Sussex County Amateur Radio Club. He was active in the formation of the Vernon Town Dog Park. Mr. Sinfield was a parishioner of St. Jude The Apostle R.C. Church in Hamburg and served as president of the St. Jude seniors for the past 2 terms. He was also a member of the Vernon Twp. senior citizens.

    Mr. Sinfield was predeceased by his wife, Gae E. Sinfield, in 2011. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Bowman of Green Twp., Joseph Sinfield of West Lafayette, Ind., Arthur Sinfield of Ariz., Steven Sinfield of Calif., and Susan Sinfield of Vernon; grandchildren, Kelsey & Kristie Bowman and Victoria and Matthew Sinfield as well as his brothers, Dennis Sinfield of Vernon, Leonard Sinfield of San Diego, Calif. and Ernest Sinfield of Orlando, Fla.

    Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at 10 a.m. at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94, Vernon. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
