Shirley D. Davenport

Shirley D. Davenport, 80, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. Mrs. Davenport, daughter of the late Leon and Lillian Simerson was born in Fair Lawn on Feb. 7, 1935.

Mrs. Davenport was raised in Oak Ridge and had resided in Ogdensburg, Clifton and Totowa before moving to Port Jervis, N.Y.

Mrs. Davenport worked for many years as Human Resource Director for Daughters of Miriam in Clifton.

Mrs. Davenport was the loving wife of the late Lewis J. Davenport (2000) and was also predeceased by 5 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her beloved daughter Susan Lordy and her husband, Robert, of Wantage; grandchildren Robert Lordy and his wife, Stephanie, Christopher and Katlynn Lordy; 3 great grandchildren, Brooke, Luke and Blake Lordy as well as a sister, Helen Cahill.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, 2015 at 11 a.m. at F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, 1 Main St., Franklin. Interment will follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
