AUGUSTA — Skylands Stadium, North Jersey’s newest event venue and home to the Sussex County Miners professional baseball team, will hold its Second Annual Skylands Stadium Christmas Light Show from Nov. 20 through Jan. 3. The drive-through light show will feature breathtaking light sculptures set to joyous holiday music.

The one-mile drive-through Christmas Light Show features picturesque nativity scenes, a light tunnel, a twinkling snowflake forest, adorable skating penguins, traditional Victorian scenes, jolly snowmen, a kid-pleasing Santa train and much more. Afterwards, visitors can stop into the festive Skylands Christmas Village at the stadium Event Center, where there will be visits with Santa, holiday crafts for children, hot chocolate, cappuccino, expresso, snacks, s’mores, caroling and other fun family activities. Donations to Toys for Tots are welcome.

“The Skylands Stadium Christmas Light Show was such a huge success in 2014 — attracting merrymakers from far and wide — that we decided to make it even bigger and better this year,” said Al Dorso, president of Skylands Stadium. “After enjoying the spectacular holiday light exhibits, families can pop into the Christmas village to visit with Santa, make fun crafts, enjoy holiday cookies and candy canes, and sip warm drinks. There will also be beautiful holiday music to get you in the Christmas spirit.”

The event will be held at Skylands Stadium, 94 Championship Place, on select dates from Nov. 20 through Jan. 3. The Light Show costs $20 per carload (cash only at the door). Discounted tickets of $17 per carload are available, on an advance-sale basis, at the Skylands Stadium box office, in person Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 p.m. Discount tickets are also available at 150 Walgreens and Duane Reed retail stores in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Visit www.skylandsstadium.com for a list of stores. Parking is free. For questions about ticketing, call 973-940-0222.

Admission into the Christmas Village is free of charge. Snacks and activities in the Village — such as photos with Santa, crafts and hot chocolate — will be available for purchase separately. Due to space restrictions, the event will not be hosting buses this year.

Light Show and Christmas Village hours are as follows: On Thursdays in December, the Light Show will run 4:30-10 p.m.; on Fridays and Saturdays from Nov. 20 through Jan. 3, the Light show is open 4:30-11 p.m., while Sundays are 4:30-10 p.m. The event will also be held on special weekdays, including Wednesday, Nov. 25, Monday through Wednesday Dec. 21-23, and Monday-Wednesday Dec. 28-30. The Light Show and Christmas Village are closed on Nov. 26, Dec. 24, 25 and 31.

Sponsorship positions for the Christmas Light Show, Christmas Village and the next attraction — “Frozen in Ice” (set for February) — are still available to local businesses. Sponsorships provide an affordable way for businesses to promote themselves to the community over the holiday season.

The new Skylands Event Center, where the Christmas Village will be held, is available for special Corporate Holiday Party packages. The Events Center and outdoor Pavilion are available year-round to rent for business, private, fundraising or community functions.
