Walnut Ridge Primary School recognizes veterans

Getting a welcome hand up the hill and leading a long line of veterans was U.S. Army veteran William F. Harris.
First grade student Kayli O'Rourke, 6, got a great seat atop her father EdþÄôs shoulders during the veteransþÄô' parade at Walnut Ridge Primary School.
The kids put on a dance routine for the visiting veterans with their music teacher Michael Moschella playing "Yankee Doodle Dandy" on the flute.
The Vernon Township High School Viking Band led the parade followed by the veterans and their families as they marched up the hill at the rear side of the school.
VERNON — Last Wednesday’s dreary and drizzly weather did not deter a good solid turnout for Walnut Ridge Primary School’s Veterans Day parade and ceremonies.
With military veterans who are related to the school’s students as guests, a parade and ceremonies were held on the blacktop behind the school.
The Vernon Township High School Viking Band led the parade followed many veterans and their families as they marched to the rear side of the school. Special ceremonies and entertainment followed in the school’s all-purpose room.
