Brazilian Night was a blast

The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council presented Brazilian Night, a dinner, dance and auction fundraising event at Perona Farms in Andover on Nov. 6.

The council is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) agency designated by the Freeholders as the official arts and heritage organization for the county. Their mission is "To foster and promote the artistic and cultural vitality of Sussex County."

According to Alexandra Miller, a SCAHC board member and coordinator for the event, “We wanted to make this event a different with the Brazilian theme. The evening featured Bianca Silva, who is Miss Brazil Manhattan and a Miss Brazil USA Finalist (pageant to take place Nov. 13). Bianca danced the Samba for the smiling crowd and offered Samba lessons to the group. Bianca certainly brought some heat to Sussex County with her feathers and her Samba dance. In the end we tripled our numbers over last year's gala. This kind of event where people come together in a festivity for a good cause is one of the things that makes this county so great. It was a privilege to be a part of it as a volunteer,”
