Christine Murray

Christine (nee Eden) Murray, 89, passed away at her home on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015. Christine was born on Jan. 17, 1926, in Glasgow, Scotland, to the late John and Catherine (nee MacArthur) Eden. She came to the United States as 3-year-old in 1929 and was a resident of Paramus, N.J., before moving to Vernon 24 years ago.

Christine was a graduate of North Arlington High School where she met her husband George, of 69 years. She was employed for the Paramus Board of Education for many years as a secretary retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church, and avid bridge player and a Yankee fan.

Christine was predeceased by her husband George D. Murray in 2015.

Christine is survived by her daughter, Carol Boyle, and her husband, Thomas, of Vernon, and a son, Donald Murray, of Vernon, and her grandchildren, Melissa Fitch and Andrew Boyle, and her great grandchildren, Nathan and James Fitch and Molly Boyle.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Vernon United Methodist Church, 303 State Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462 on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the church would be appreciated.
