BRANCHVILLE — Phase II Consignment Boutique is just as the name describes.

It's a consignment store but one of boutique quality meaning customers will find top end items so gently worn — if at all — that they appear new and the price is right.

Located a few miles north of Ross' Corner on Route 206 in Branchville, Phase II is a hidden treasure in a store to find awesome fashion and holiday gifts.

Owner Laurie Malefytt of Wantage, and her manager, Melissa Helner, who also lives in the area, are exceptionally specific about what items and brands they'll accept from their consigners and pride themselves on quality, low prices and if you're unsure what to pair with what to complete an outfit, they're also fashionistas who help create an outfit.

Phase II moved the summer, from its old digs in the Borough of Branchville to a more prominent location on Route 206 North. The move enabled Phase II to transition into a more upscale, boutique type of store featuring woman's, children's and teen clothing plus some great shoes, boots and accessories. The owners also added new handmade scarves and jewelry to the mix, making the store a one-stop-shop for revamping your wardrobe or holiday gifts.

“The move has let us create a new and improved store,” Malefyt said, “We're carrying more upscale things and good brands at affordable prices.” As to the outfit-creating part of the business, Malefyt said, “Sometimes people want ideas creating an outfit and other times, they just like to have someone do it for them, either way, we're glad to help.”

This aspect of Malefyt and Helner's expertise grew out of customers buying entire outfits off of their displays.

“It's a lot of fun to help people create the perfect outfit,” Malefyt said.

If you want to provide your customers with quality, you have to demand quality. When it comes to brands and quality, she Malefyt said,

“We are picky so that we can provide our customers with the very best," Malefyt said. "To this end, she and Helner go over all items consigners bring into the store with a fine-tooth comb and make sure the brands are in keeping with their standards.
