Dennis Brown

Dennis Brown, age 62, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Sussex to the late Harold B. and Hester (Matthews) Brown, Dennis had lived in Sussex County all of his life. He had been employed by Downing's Furniture in Sparta as a deliveryman for 25 years and retired on January 12, 2013. He was a man who gave selflessly to others and always was someone that would be there for anyone in need. He cherished his family and friends. Dennis was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia, and his daughter, Heidi; his three brothers, Daniel Brown in 1965, Harold "Wayne" Brown, Sr. in 2004, and Steven P. Brown in 2012; his two sisters, Donna Kinney in 1978 and Susan K. Brown in 2015; and his niece, Heather Brown in 2010. He is survived by his life partner of 25 years, Theresa "Terri" Decker of Wantage; his three sons, Jason Brown of Port Jervis, N.Y., and Kyle Brown and Malachi Perry both of Wantage; his eight daughters, Kathy Ann Bucknam, Beth De Jesus, and Stephanie Hall all of Milford, Pa.,, Melody Brown of Port Jervis, N.Y., Jessica Gould of Binghampton, N.Y., Crystal Brown of Middletown, New York, Cassandra Munoz and Tabitha Brown both of Wantage; his two brothers, Rodney Brown of Wantage and Jerry Brown of Sussex; his three sisters, Darlene Thompson of Slate Hill, New York, Karen Brown of Kingston, N.Y., and Nancy Brown of Huguenot, N.Y.; 30 grandchildren; and his second wife, Candace Brown of Milford, Pa. A celebration of Denny's life will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex.
