A significant reorganization took place Jan. 6 at the Sussex-Wantage school board meeting.

Three new school board members: Susan Langan, receiving 966 votes; Ryan M. Coyle: 827; and Amber Simons: 787, repeated the Oath of Office with Business Administrator and Board Secretary Christina Riker.

School board member Robert Heiden was unanimously appointed board president; and William Bolella was unanimously reinstated as vice president.

Paul Demott congratulated the three new board members: Langan, Coyle, and Simons, saying he thought residents of Wantage had spoken volumes by the 600-person petition and voting for a change. He also said he looked forward to the changes in 2016 under Heiden's direction.

In mid-June of 2015, a petition had been presented to the board asking that Superintendent Jeanne Apryasz's contract not be renewed in June of 2016.

Both Heiden and Bolella expressed appreciation to the community and board for the support and confidence. Bolella said that hopefully he would be worthy of their confidence.
