Police seeking suspect in gas station robbery

VERNON — Vernon police are looking for suspects in connection with an amred robbery on Friday, Jan. 15, at the Liberty gas station.

Police said at about 6:10 a.m., a white male suspect entered the office, pointed a dark-colored handgun at the attendant and demanded money from the cash register. Police said the suspect was described as a white male, about 5'10" to 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and a scarf to cover his face.

Polices said the suspect ran from the office and at the attendant reported hearing a vehicle speed away on County Highway 517, heading toward Route 23.

Vernon Township police are requesting any information from residents or customers who may have witnessed the incident or having seen the vehicle leaving the station on County Highway 517 South.
