Simply Dance to begin competition season

Simply Dance, located at 3 Church St, is about to kick off its 9th season of competitive dance starting, with its first competition held in Mahwah on Feb 5.

Comprised of solos, duets, trios, small and large groups, Simply Dance competes in tap, jazz, lyrical and hip hop. Simply Dance will participate in five competitions this season spanning February through June.

Dances compete in levels from novice to advanced depending on their age and ability.

Competition team members put more time into dance than the recreational dancer. They are required to take ballet plus other forms of dance such as jazz, tap, tumbling, modern, lyrical, pointe and hip hop. Competition members also practice their routines once per week usually held on Fridays and Saturdays.

Members of the Simply Dance Competition Dance Team are: Isabella Barbarise, Lucas Barbarise, Kaitlyn Bennett, Janelle Colyer, Alyssa Conticelli, Emily Demarest, Kate Emanuel, Jenna Fogge, Kelci Grieder, Pamela Hackett, Abby Higgins, Samantha Krzyzak, Jaclyn Lehman, Julie Llosa, Delaney Mackey, Madi Margroff, Cassidy Moore, Kaelyn Morris, Breana Prusansky, Paige Quimby, Sydney Schwerdtfeger, Zoey Schwerdtfeger, Aleigha Seidner, Dylan Seidner, Ryan Kate Shuppon, Jillian Spirko, Emma Sturm, Evan Toll, Sophia Tremont, Alyssa Trimlett, Maia VonEssen, and Madeleine Yurchuk.

Simply Dance also offers recreational classes for all ages, abilities and interests.
