Thomas F. McGranahan, 60, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Warwick, N.Y. His death was unexpected and was brought on by respiratory complications that were a result of the H1N1 Flu. Mr. McGranahan, son of the late Cyril F. and Marguerite (Ryan) McGranahan was born in Jersey City on Jan. 4, 1956. He grew up in Jersey City and Montclair, N.J. Mr. McGranahan was a graduate of Essex Catholic High School class of 1974 and had attended Rutgers Livingston College. He worked for Crazy Eddie, Karl’s Appliances and later retired from Country Club Services where he was the dispatch manager.

Tom had two passions, his family and his friends. He loved spending time with his cousins and rarely missed a family gathering, especially the Annual Roark Reunion. He had a broad spectrum of friends and enjoyed traveling with them to Jamaica and to a yearly party on Sandy Hook, N.J.

All who knew Tommy, were entertained by his gregarious nature and extensive story telling. We will miss his daily Facebook posts which were filled with sports updates, timely observations and witticisms.
