Greenwood Lake man killed in crash

VERNON — A Greenwood Lake, N.Y., man was killed in a motor vehicle accident on County Highway 565 near Babtown Road on Friday, Jan. 29.
Matthew Heyman, 24, of Vernon was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving, and failure to keep right. He also was charged with death by auto, a crime of the second degree.
Police said they observed a red Ford with the occupant trapped inside and they also said they saw the driver of the second vehicle, Heyman, involved in the crash standing net to the red Ford.
Robert T. Ritter, 48, the driver of the red Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.
Heyman was processed and transported to the Sussex County jail in liue of $50,000 bail.
