The Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library will host a free program on Heirloom Gardening in Historical Gardens on Thursday, Feb. 25, from 7-8 p.m. in the library's community room. Master Gardener and Native Plant Society member April Fisher will take us on a journey back in time to visit a few of our treasured American gardens and see what plants were grown by our founding gardeners.

This free program is for adults, all levels of gardening experience. Space is limited and registration is required. To register, please sign up online at www.sussexcountylibrary.org or call the library at 973-875-3940. A snow date for this program has been scheduled for Thursday, March 3 at 7 p.m.

April Fisher is a Stillwater resident who gardens an acre of property with ornaments and vegetables. She has lectured at Springfest, the Sussex County State Fair, as well as at other garden clubs in the area. When she is not working at Ideal Farm and Garden Center or out in her own garden, she loves to arrange flowers and her arrangements have been competition award winners. April believes (along with an unknown author) that "gardening is cheaper than therapy and you get tomatoes".
