Roy R. Metz

Roy R. Metz, age 63, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Nyack Hospital in Nyack, N.Y. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., to the late Roy and Anna (Boughton) Metz, Roy had lived in Oakland before moving to Sussex County. He had served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Roy was a member of the McAfee Fire Department in Vernon. He had been employed as a lab supervisor and manager for Fujitsu in Pearl River, N.Y., for the past 25 years. He is survived by his sons, Matthew Metz of Vernon and Michael Metz of Delaware, Ohio; his daughter, Melissa Gomora of Denver, Colo.; and his former wife, Susan Metz, of Straton, Vermont. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment will follow at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sparta.

Friends may pay their respects to the family on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Fireman Services will follow at 7 p.m..
