Highland Lakes residents treated to Winter Carnival

With hundreds of crayons available, the Seckler Stage at the Highland Lakes clubhouse was transformed into a jumbo coloring book for the young children to enjoy.

VERNON — Saturday’s sunny weather gave Highland Lakes residents the chance to get together for a variety of indoor and outdoor activities at their Second Annual Winter Carnival.
Scheduled activities included a little golf, bowling, a snowball toss, oversized games such as Jenga and KerPlunk.
Creating snow angels and face-painting was also included along with a chili cook-off.
The afternoon was capped with a Birds of Prey presentation by Giselle Smisko of the Wantage-based Avian Wildlife Center.
