Glen Meadow Middle School participated in the “Great Kindness Challenge” during the week of Feb. 22, 2016.

Students were challenged to complete 50 acts of kindness throughout their school and community in an effort to promote a more positive environment. In addition to the kind acts, morning announcements centered on quotes of kindness, and students were encouraged to participate in the week long spirit themed days.

In an effort to further instill the idea of kindness, students participated in a school-wide assembly with speaker Jim Jordan, anti-bullying expert from ReportBullying.com. Mr. Jordan spoke to the students about the effects of bullying and the importance of joining together to positively influence the school climate.

The Great Kindness Challenge School Edition was created by Kids for Peace to provide schools a tool for creating a positive school environment. In 2014, 554,486 students participated and performed over 27 million acts of kindness nationwide. The Great Kindness Challenge is generously sponsored by Diginity Health, ViaSat, SDGE, NRG, The Code Crew, ExaMobile, and Kinvolved.
