Vernon students earn scholarships

VERNON — Amanda Vrindten and Jenna Day, both of Vernon Township High School were awarded $500 VTRO scholarships by the Vernon Township Republican Organization.
The Vernon Township Republican Organization has established the VTRO Scholarships to support the educational opportunities of select high school seniors in Vernon who meet certain rigid criteria.
Awardees must be matriculating to a high educational institution and must exceed certain high academic and community standards established by the VTRO including a familial connection to, or a stated support for, Republican Party ideal seeking to make this great nation even better. Over the last 18 years, this competitive scholarship program has awarded a total of approximately $60,000 in education grants to high school seniors in Vernon who have gone on to better themselves through advanced education.
