    A 17-year-old juvenile from Montague was sentenced to commitment to Juvenile Justice Commission to a maximum sentence for four years.
    The juvenile pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to conspiracy to commit murder, a first-degree crime and was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court.
    The juvenile admitted to conspiring with another juvenile to commit murder by planning and assaulting his/her mother with a hammer and knife in an attempt to cause her death.
    An 18-year-old juvenile of Port Jervis, N.Y. was sentence to commitment to Juvenile Justice Commission for a maximum of four years.
    The juvenile pleaded guilty on Feb. 23, to conspiracy to commit murder, a first-degree crime. The juvenile was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court.
    The defendant admitted that he/she conspired with another juvenile to commit murder by planning and assaulting his/her mother with a hammer and knife in an attempt to cause her death.
    March 29
    Jose Ortiz, 26, of Wantage pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and to edluding, both-second degree crimes, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third-degree crime and to the motor-vehicle offense of driving while intoxicated (second offense) and driving with a suspended driver's license (second offense).
    Ortiz also admitted that his commission of these offenses violated his previous sentence to Drug Court Probation for second-degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 24, 2016.
    On April 2, 2015, Vernon police responded to a report of an erratic driver near the Dunkin Donuts on Route 94. During his plea of guilty, Ortiz admitted fleeing in a motor vehicle from the officer responding to that report and in the process of eluding capture by the law enforcement officer causing bodily injury to a motorist when he crossed into the oncoming lane of travel and collided head-on with a vehicle. Ortiz admitted that he was intoxicated and driving with a suspended driver’s license during those events. Ortiz also admitted possession of the cocaine that was subsequently discovered by police in the vehicle that he was operating.
    April 4
    Randall L. Hutchison, 30, of Mine Hill pleaded guilty to dumping of solid waste, a fourth-degree crime.
    Sentencing is scheduled for April 27.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to dumping approximately 55-60 cubic yards of trash and debris on New Jersey State Park property in Wantage on or about Oct. 22, 2015.
    The case was investigated by Detective Steve Franzone of the New Jersey State Park Police.
    April 5
    Matthew Davala, 29, of Highland Lakes pleaded guilty to conspiracy, a third-degree crime, three counts of theft, third-degree crimes.
    Sentencing is scheduled for May 27.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to conspiring and agreeing to participate and actually committing with his co-defendant taking money during a staged robbery from the Vernon Lukoil on Oct. 18, 2015. The defendant also admitted to taking jewelry from his parents’ residence on Dec. 3, 2015.
    These cases were investigated by Detective K. Curry of the Vernon Township Police Dept.
    Davala also admitted to taking cash and checks from his employer on Sept. 20, 2015. This case was investigated by Trooper McGarrity of the New Jersey State Police.
    Kyle Noorman, 22, of Hamburg pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin), a third-degree crime, and driving while intoxicated, a motor-vehicle offense.
    Sentencing is scheduled for May 27.
    On Dec. 6, 2015, New Jersey State Police were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in Wantage. In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to possessing heroin and to driving while intoxicated.
    David Herman, 41, of Vernon pleaded guilty to eluding, a third-degree crime and driving with a suspended license, a fourth-degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for June 10.
    Sentencing is presently anticipated for June 10.
    In pleading guilty, the defendant admitted to driving a motorcycle while his driving privileges were suspended for driving while intoxicated and to not pulling over and fleeing from a police officer on the motorcycle after being signaled to stop.
    April 7
    Jermal T. Hogan, 23, of Paterson pleaded guilty to second-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Sentencing is scheduled for June 3.
    He admitted to selling heroin on two separate occasions, in January 2015, in Hardyston to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.
