Friends of Library plan cupcake contest

| 18 Apr 2016 | 01:46

The Friends of the Sussex-Wantage Library invite amateur bakers ages 10 through adult to participate in their first-ever cupcake contest.
Enjoy a fun and delicious afternoon and join in a friendly competition for those with a talent for baking and decorating. The program will take place in the Sussex-Wantage Library Community Room on Saturday, April 30.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. and judging will begin at 1:45 p.m. The contest will be limited to 36 participants. Register online at www.sussexcountylibrary.org or call the library at 973-875-3940 and ask to be registered. There is no fee to enter the contest.
Participants will be judged in two age categories: ages 10-13; and ages 14 and up. Each participant must make a display of one dozen (12) cupcakes, artfully arranged. All 12 cupcakes should be made using a single cake batter recipe, but may be decorated differently. Judging will be based on taste, presentation, and creativity. First-, second- and third-place ribbons will be awarded. Complete rules are available at the Sussex-Wantage Library or on the Friends’ website: friendsofswlibrary.org.
