Elks organizer Patty Green egged on those who wanted to once again deposit her in the dunk tank.
Vernon-based The Pet Emergency Card was one of the organizations on hand. Shown is Judi Maniscalco who explained that the cards are to be kept with a driverþÄôs wallet so that in case of an accident or other emergency, police will know how to ensure your petsþÄô welfare.
All through the afternoon more and more motorcycles arrived until all told there were 250 machines.
American Legion Riders member Bill Robinson is shown on his Harley Soft tail. Robinson is one of Sussex CountyþÄôs veterans best friends and a Navy veteran himself.
WANTAGE — Sunday afternoon some 250 motorcycles and their riders and passengers roared into the parking lot of Sussex Elks Lodge #2288.
The annual Poker Run was to benefit the Elks’ mission to serve children with special needs. In particular, the proceeds are to benefit the New Jersey Elks Camp Moore and to help fund a new water spray park for the children who attend camp there.
In all, the event raised some $7,900.00.
The riders were also treated to a delicious buffet that included pulled pork from Mason’s Barbecue. The Elks’ Special Children’s Committee is continuing to raise funds for children in need.
