Donald J. Miller, age 84, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016 at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, New York. Born in Ringwood to the late Theodore and Gertrude (Anderson) Miller, he had lived in West Milford until he had moved to Vernon in 1988. Mr. Miller had been employed in the maintenance department for the West Milford Board of Education and retired when he was 61. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War and fought on the front lines in the Infantry. Mr. Miller was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post No. 8441 in Vernon. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald J. Miller on Nov. 27, 2015. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Donna Preziosi of Franklin; his brother, Arthur Miller of Florida; his two sisters, Ruth Herrick of Glendale, Arizona and Harriet Van Dyke of Pompton Lakes; his granddaughter, Jennie Miller of Vernon; his three great grandchildren, Savannah and Samantha Lumpkin and Alea Ranta all of Vernon. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex. Interment to follow at North Hardyston Cemetery.
