Weather challenging for National Day of Prayer

Under a milky sky with strong chilling winds, the 65th Annual Observance of the National Day of Prayer was held locally last Thursday in front of the Vernon Municipal Center.
Nearly 30 people and one canine attended the observance.
People took turns praying for our governments and institutions ranging from our federal leaders and troops at war to Vernon Township’s own governmental leaders. Special prayers were also offered for our emergency response personnel and local educators.
Local clergy attending were Pastor Nik Fontana of the Faith With Love Fellowship at the McAfee Bible Church and Monsignor Robert Carroll of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Highland Lakes.
