Why reader is voting for Sylvia Petillo

I’ll be voting for Sylvia Petillo for Freeholder on June 7. She has been the mayor of Hopatcong for some time now and that community is definitely better for her leadership. Just driving into Hopatcong, you can tell that the place is better and has improved. But what really impresses me about Sylvia Petillo is how she handled the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in her town. Hopatcong was absolutely battered and pummeled by Sandy. In a manner similar to the post Sept. 11 Rudy Giuliani, she displayed heroic leadership to help her residents. She was composed and resilient. She took on the power company, publicly giving them an F grade, insisting on getting help for Hopatcong. She was visible and vocal, fighting the fight for her community, as a good leader does. This is the kind of leadership that Sussex County needs. Please join me in voting for Sylvia Petillo on June 7.
