Sussex-Wantage historical society holds meeting

The Sussex-Wantage Historical Society had its first member meeting at the Crescent Theatre in Sussex Borough at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 14.
There was a general discussion amongst the 8 members present who were Mario Poggi - President; Bob Holowach — VP/Treasurer; and members Alex Everitt, Sonya Hulbert, Patricia Hoffman, Jean Fiore, Penny Boyle and Richard Boyle.
Officers discussed membership dues, the T.J. Dunn fountain column restoration, growing the membership base, fundraising, grants, publicity and time intervals for our meetings among other things. The meeting lasted about 90 minutes.
“I feel that as a new organization, this meeting set the tone for a bright future for the Sussex-Wantage Historical Society and I am now more determined than ever to, along with our members, make the Sussex-Wantage Historical Society the premier Historical Society in Sussex County.” Poggi said.
The next member meeting will be Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Crescent Theatre in Sussex Borough. All are welcome to come and if you are not already a member, you can take advantage of the limited-time free membership period and become a member at the meeting.
